Re: CBR600rr cam chain adjustment
Reasonably useless response but I had a 2001 CBR600 f-sport and when I first got it the cam chain was super rattly around 6k rpm. Firstly I was told all of them are like this and to a certain extent all research I did proved this to be true.
Anyways I decided I would change the cam tensioner. Unfortunately while a Hornet had it hanging out the side it was behind the frame on the f-sport and maybe the same on a 600rr. The good news is lack of access is the only hard part. It was fiddly but realistically replacing it is two bolts out, take the old one out then the same two bolts back in to screw in the new one.
anyways I propped up the tank, took off the airbox then fiddled for an hour and replaced it. Taking off the fuel rail would have made access much easier but I could be bothered. And after it was considerably quieter...
