Take the forks off again, check forks are straight. If they are remove the top yoke and put the forks into the bottom yoke at approximately the right height - doesn't need to be exact - nip the lower yoke clamps up so the forks are held in place, no need to lean on it. Will the top yoke go back on easily? If yes and it just slips on the bottom yoke is fine, if not, what's the discrepancy? If it's a mm or two the yoke is probably no worse than a standard one, loosen the lower yoke clamps and it'll go back together OK.
