Or just buy a new li-ion based cordless drill and be done with it, chances are if what you got is that old you can't find replacement batteries something else will go wrong with it soon enough. As an example a cheap non brand name hammer action drill with 13mm chuck and 2 X 1.5ah batteries will set you back £55:
