I've ust changed the oil hoses for an aftermarket set - much better. The details are here:

I used a tin of black aerosol paint from Poundland for the oil cooler. It is just fine - the cooler doesn't get very hot. The mesh guard I gave a coat of Hammerite silver (because I had some in the garage) to protect it before a couple of coats of Poundland black to make it the right colour.
