When I got mine they had the old straps, one front and one back (with the black clips at each end), so you took the pillion seat off and laid them across,put seat back on. Bingo.

The new method uses one "loop" per corner. If there is no subframe handy to loop round IIRC there are Allen bolts that hold the rear fairing on handily placed.
Stick a hole through the strap (used something hot, so you don't get fraying) and bolt it on. The little loops should slightly protrude so you can get the clips on.
