At least it was doing something strenuous. The back injury that caused me the most pain and consigned me to not being able to walk for nearly a week was caused by putting a plate in the dishwasher (over stretching whilst twisting).
According to the "lifting" course I did at work a few years back, a lot of people injure their backs whilst picking up a piece of paper.
