You are on the right path the Reece fish was a unofficial copy for European applications the official euro model was the minnow fish.
The reece fish had the nice feature of pivoting metering assembly so it could be side draft,semi own draft or down draft.
The minnow fish was only down draft (to my knowledge) due to the bell mouth shape.
The one I am using is much older and made for American car application

An update
I notched out the metering pickup,(to reduce the minimum fuel flow rate) but due to tight tolerances not much was gained.
I may have to live with a hi idle but the exhaust noise is way louder.(too loud a real surprise)
I will do some more fine adjustments and test rides tomorrow. but dyno tuning still won't happen till mid January)
