One of the big hopes for vaccine rollout was that not only would it stop serious illness ( serious enough to need hospital treatment, where even if you did not have the virus you would catch it in hospital
) it would help stop the transmission of the virus, seems that hope was realised. People who have had the vaccine carry a much smaller viral load in nose and throat - and it is the number of virus in those areas that is important in passing virus to others.
