It's a good question. I tend to use dealers for that reason (and lose money each time). I have trust issues so I'd want the money up front before the test ride which would be refunded if they didn't purchase and hadn't damaged the bike. You would definitely want some kind of security.
My other issue would be where would you meet? Do you let them come to your house? I read that doing the deal outside a police station is a good idea (like I said, I have trust issues
