I expect a road test to reveal the bad things.
A cynic might suggest that, in this day and age, it's possible that commercial interests take precedence over blunt 'truth', so that reviews end up being somewhat sanitised to reduce chance of offence, so that journalists/publishers don't risk losing the ability to get the loan vehicles they need from manufacturers to sustain their publications.

Though in reality I think technology probably has developed incredibly well and bikes really are very good in general.

Of course, "good" is relative and so one person's "smooth, predictable feel" vehicle can still be another's "bland, character-less" one!

I'm (procrastinating about) fixing up an old Yamaha FZ600 to get myself fully back on the road.
