We had a day trip to Nottingham. Not the most glamorous of places but their sandstone caves are amazing. We went there for a few days last year but one of the cave tours under tha Castle was closed. Its open now so we went up to see it. Very interesting history relating to Edward II and Edward III, especially the grizzly fate of Roger Mortimer, who tried to stop the very young E-III getting the crown.

Lunch at The Old Trip To Jeruselam before heading home. One of several places claiming to be England's oldest pub some of the bar is inside one of the sandstone caves. Fascinating place!
