Default Re: Gripe of the day - What is yours?

Update to air fryer. Tower were unable to replace my air fryer and offered me the option of picking another model (they didn't say who would pay the difference in price). I declined because they were all much bigger and asked for a refund. They granted my request, asked me to cut off the power cord 1 cm from the chassis and send them a picture to show I'd done it. I am assuming this means they don't want it back so I have started dismantling it searching for the thermal fuse which, I think, is what has blown.
I may have a problem if they now ask for it to be returned...

Update 2: found the thermal fuse and it had blown but I had to dismantle everything and cut wires to get there. Wish I'd taken pictures! Seems odd to me that the thermal fuse was rated at 185°C and was strapped to the side of the heating element chassis which can reach 200°C. I had last used it at max temp and I suspect that when it had finished the latent heat popped the fuse. Naturally it would make sense if the fan would continue to run after the frying was complete to cool the unit, so that doesn't happen. Assuming I can remember how to reassemble (not guaranteed) I must remember to lower the temp and let the unit run for a bit longer if it's been used at max. I've ordered a couple of 192°C fuses and the crimps required for installation (soldering thermal fuses can pop them).
