TBH if the standard calipers are properly serviced and maintained they are easily a match for the SV's requirements.
If you are intent on spending money to upgrade the stopping power then I'd say braided s/s lines, decent pads, s/s pistons and good quality brake seals correctly fitted with red rubber grease would be the better option. While they may not have the eyeball popping power of modern calipers, they are, as I said more than adequate for the SV, especially when combined with the SV's fearsome engine braking.
