had the same thing on my bandit - we (well hubby did anyway!) had to fiddle with the wiring when the switch played up and after that it would not start with the sidestand down (which was a pain because you then you cant warm the bike up whilst putting your gear on
)
At least I had the centre stand but I could never get it on the damn thing it was too heavy!
but you cant even do that on the sv
