you could have lightly scratched the finish and to be honest it isn't that thicks, by a long way.

You have two optons
1.
You'll have to cut the finish back but GENTLY, with something like "T cut" or another colour restorer (or a good one is white tooth paste

, yes it really works.), also some of the polishes are mildly abrasive so they might work as well.

Get one of those wax colour sticks (close to your bikes colour) and follow the directions on it.

If it's down through the paint (scratches are a different colour) then you'll need to add paint (touchup or re-spray area).
