It's now exactly six months since I was stopped on the M8 for speeding and verbally notified that I may be prosecuted.

Since then I've heard nothing.

I've heard various suggestions that they have either 6 months or 9 months to start a prosecution for the offence from the date they verbally give me my NIP.

I'd be shocked if I'd somehow managed to slip through the net, but can anyone confirm what the situations is.

Incidentally the bike and my license have been register to me at my address for a number of years so it's not a case of going to someone else.
