It was a strange thing, the previous owner had very ickle hands and it looks like she had provided herself with a much more manageable clutch point without adjusting it properly.

Upshot was than the clutch was not fully enganging or dis-engaging and at a full power the engine was simply spinning faster than the gearbox. I still have a few more things to adjust and I am not 100% sure that the clutch is OK, although I gave it some stick on the way home and there was no slipage. Going from neutral to first now is less jerky, all gear changes are much easier and getting into neutral is relatively very easy.

Truth is e.d. if this had not have happened yesterday, I may have made it up as a convenient excuse!!!
