Different bike I know but same concerns. Your advice most welcome, people.
As in title I'm about to do trip that won't be too shy of 4000 miles and I'm just on 4000 miles on the 12GS. So the 6000 service is slap in the middle of that.

What a PIA. I dont want to have to schedule a service on route as I don't want to be tied down to dates etc and its unlikely I'd get one on spec what with the dealer lead in times Ive been hearing lately.

So I cant decide whether to bite the bullet and just get the service done early, take a chance and leave it until my return, or do so kind of halfway house interim. I'm not so good with home maintenance so paying the dealer to do oil and filter and check pads is pretty much getting on for the service anyhow, I suspect. Although they do some adjustments....I think!

I'm not so much concerned with service affected warranty issues..final drive failures seem to happen service or not.

Advise me guys and gals....
