If you are having problems turning the alarm off, or when you turn it off it just starts again, check the fuse to the alarm. If this is blown it will not work correctly. Also try dissarming the alarm with the ignition turned on.
Dont go removing any switches or wiring as this may make the insurance company a bit iffy in the event of the bike being stolen and as said before the switch only looks for a state change eg on-off or off-on. I have broken a bit off my switch so its never pressed down when the seat is on, apart from that the alarm still works fine.
