Take at the section of the headstock where the fairing bracket bolts to and you'll see a hole just above it. The locking pin in the ignition goes into that.

On the curvy(centred ignition) that hole is to the left. With yours being in the centre the ignition has to be offset to the right(as originally) so the wheel is locked to the left when steering lock is engaged.

Therefore a yoke with the ignition in the centre the steering lock will only work with the wheels in the straight ahead position.
