I’d agree. My K6 has done 134,000 miles and still has the original RR, indeed it had the original 13 year old battery until just a few weeks ago.
What R1... says above makes sense from an electrical engineering point of view (as does his blog), but whether it is worth doing or not is a balance between the risk of changing things on an older bike and the subsequent advantages.
