The 'electronic' or 'LED compatible' flasher relays are independent of load, the flash rate is set by internal circuitry, and will handle either filament bulbs, LED bulbs or a mixture... So by the time you have faffed around buying resistors and fitting them it is a lot cheaper to buy an electronic relay and plug it in.
