As many of you no doubt know, my partner and I have been supporting Weston Bike Night for a few years now. Over the years we have helped raise a considerable sum of money for the Royal British Legion, a cause that we both believe in, especially as I am an Army Brat and the wife is ex-Navy.

Well it has started up again for the summer season and will be happening on the beach lawns every Thursday evening from six. There will be the occasional live band, but most of the time it will be the wife and her best mate providing the music.

When my otherwise rubbish health and mood allows, I will be down there too. I am not hard to spot, I am the mad witch with a sulking owl occasionally strapped to my wrist.

Anyway, don't be shy (that is my job). Come and say hello and if you are lucky you may even get to meet Sylvie, my beautiful customised pointy. Comments about chicken strips and why the seat is brown will not be tolerated though and people who make these comments will be forced at Owl point to help me wind the wool for my knitting!
