I decided to take Bibio's advice and so late February I made the trip to Barnard Castle to be measured for a Venom jacket at Scotts. Jim quickly and efficiently disillusioned me on my chest, waist and height size, I'm just glad he didn't weigh me because there's only so much disappointment a man can take.
The jacket arrived today, so it took about 3 weeks which was quicker than I'd expected although Jim did tell me it would be that long. I'd asked for all leather sleeves instead of the kevlar mesh which wasn't a problem.
Finally, a jacket that fits so well, no pinching, flapping it just...fits.
I have a shortish torso so most jackets are too long which causes them to bunch up when seated on a bike and I'm so used to that it felt odd when this jacket didn't do that. I like it. It cost me £300 which I think was a great price for bespoke jacket. I've only managed a short ride so far but in that short duration I am impressed.
