Default Re: Rattle can spraying

As Shiftin Gear says Rattle cans are single pack paint and are not that robust. Most commercial paints are ,"Two-Pack" which is Paint and hardener. We use,"Triple Pack" paints now on Aircraft.

However High Temp engine Matt Black is more robust than most Rattle can paint so you can give that a go and it's also easy to maintain/Respray when it looks shoddy.

Word of warning though. If you ever going to spray a different paint onto another you should make a small test piece and spray that with the original paint and let cure and then paint on top of that with the new paint to see if there's a reaction as not all paints are compatible with each other.

Paint spraying in all forms is a process and has more variables than people think and cannot be rushed.
