I'd forgotten about a local 10k today. I didn't get to run the 10k. But did get to run the 5k with my eldest. It was the first time he'd run that distance and wanted moral support.
He did really well. He needed a bit of nagging to keep going, but he did and even managed a sprint finish. He must have been tired as I could keep with him, being true to my word I didn't beat him and let him cross the line first. I've never been that person who has to win everything. Plus I didn't see the point in shattering his achievement. 5k 27.20 mins gun time. Logged on Strava.
