Another stroker lover here: I had a GT380 for 17 years before getting the SV (hence my username). It had some very rare period J&R spannies on it, the noise would make your hair stand on end - not especially loud but pure music.
Unfortunately, I holed the left piston giving it some rice (the left-hand crank seal was always a little suspect, and it sucked a little too much air that time) and blew molten ally all around the big end and mains.
By the time I'd priced up a crank rebuild, then a rebore and new pistons, then a gearbox inspection .... and the frame needed repainting .... and the chrome on the wheels was getting a bit dodgy .... I decided to flog it as a project and got an SV instead.
I don't regret selling it, but there's nothing quite like the feeling of a stroker coming on the pipe, as the exhaust note sharpens from a drone to a wail
