I did my second one after I'd been off the bike a while with my broken elbow. My confidence had been sapped. I warned the policeman I was with that I might be a bit slow and wobbly. After I'd managed to lose him on the Burnham bends 20 minutes in he said he was glad to see I'd got my confidence back!

Any advanced training is good because they are training you to ride, not just to pass a test. I did a one to one day with the guy who trains the Essex Police riders. Riding behind him as he gave me a running commentary of what he was looking for, doing with the bike, road position, anticipating etc was a fantastic, one of the best £100 I've spent.
