Love my Olympus OMD EM10. It's small and there's a kit 14-42 pancake lens to go with it. I'mnot sure whether there's one m4/3 lens that would cover the range of focal length you want though.
Otherwise, a Panasonic TZ or Sony travel zoom, which have EVFs might fit the bill.
