Have to disagee, 636 shock is a couple of mm shorter than the SV standard shock eye to eye.

Not according to this list (see below) both the ZX636 and the ZX10 shocks are (slightly) longer than stock SV.
Stormspiel - this list is great (I used it and decided on a 636 shock!), they all fit the SV, make your own choice on the spring rate and length.
