You are absolutely right. All over the world "we" are sick of professional politicians. You only have to look at Trump, Emmanuel Macron who came from seemingly nowhere and the last two Italian elections. If our politicians want to remain credible they need to get out of the little bubble they live in and join our world and speak our language. Two different examples of the Bubble effect 1 DC giving the public a brexit referendum sure and safe in the knowledge the vote would be yes, 2 the banning of sale of battery acid except by licenced traders and sale by post, do they really believe the thieving scum buy it new when the rest of us know they just steal another moped or go to the scrap yard.
