I think it was a rash election promise due to the rise of UKIP etc. which to be honest I thought was going to be a short-term thing anyway. Either Cameron is being honest in backing the remain camp, or he's wanting Brexit and is hoping people will either vote for it because they voted for the referendum in the first place, or will vote for it just because he's saying not to. That said every conversation seems to bring out new stories.
