I know you're only done a few miles on the OE tyres but before you spend a whole load of money having potentially irreversible changes done to your suspension why not splash out on a different set of tyres and just see if they give you what they want? You should be able to pick up a set of Michelin Pilot Road 4's for around £250 and if you were to run them with perhaps 38psi rear and 34 front (assuming you're solo) you might be surprised at the difference it makes, especially if you set the suspension to the manuals "soft" settings. The best thing is it's completely reversible, you just need to keep the old tyres to put back on if the fancy takes you.......
