Never really understood quick shifters on bikes myself. As you say pin throttle back and preloaded next gear and as soon as you drop off the throttle you are in the next gear up.
Down shifting I never need to do it so quickly and without the clutch anyway. Rather it was smooth on the down shift to stop in balances personally.
