I was reading a Ride's "fix your bike" feature that it's really wise to buy the more expensive replacement batteries, as they tend to last 2-3 times as long as the cheaper unofficial replacement ones.
That said, I've not needed to change a battery yet (aside from the one in my car and that lasted 4/5 years
), so can't speak from experience.
