Funnily enough, I went for a fairly short ride today, been laid up with bad flu for just over a week, it was grey, wet, slippy and dark on the way back, togged up in textiles so warm and dry, and thrashed the nuts of the bike, it was fantastic.
If you want to ride and enjoy it, just make sure you have the right kit and skills (or practise them until they are good enough), it's always possible to have fun, you've just got to want to.
