Even the front may not need it so much in the beginning with PR/PP's because they are lighter in weight and (supposedly) more uniform in construction. However, after a while of riding most tyres need balancing/re-balancing.

As for the PR4's, you'll like them. Some say they move around too much but basically if you trust the tyres - they only need a modicum of heat to work - you'll have more grip than you think.

Btw, who get's properly leant over in the rain anyway? I suppose they've made the edges with less tread to stiffen the carcass a little (re complaints about PR3's moving around) and give more dry grip because nobody on road usually get to the edge of the tyre in this sort of weather we're having.
