  • Follow B4401 to junction with A494
  • Turn left for Bala
  • Turn right up A4212 (road to Tryweryn)
  • Turn right onto B4501 at Frongoch about 1 mile before Canolfan Tryweryn
  • Follow B4501 to A5
  • Turn left onto A5 for half a mile and turn right into Cerrigydrudion at the end of the straight.
  • At end of road, there is a junction with the White Lion pub opposite.
  • Bear right then immediately bear left onto B4501, between HSBC bank and the butcher.
  • Follow the B4501 to junction with A543. After a 3 or 4 miles is the Llyn Brenig visitor center. This is the alternative lunch spot - very scenic.
  • Turn right onto A543 to Denbigh.
  • Turn right in Denbigh onto the A525 for Ruthin.
  • Follow A525 through Ruthin and up the Nant-y-Garth pass (toward Wrexham).
  • At top of pass after 1 mile, turn right onto A542, signposted Llangollen and Horseshoe Pass.
  • Follow A542 back to Llangollen.
Took about 1.5 hours at reasonable pace. 2 hours steady riding. Factor in a lunch stop and you are looking at 3 hours. There are several places to cut the ride short if you need to.
Is that your "reasonable pace" or a resonable pace?
