How not? Front paddock stands support the front end either under the forks (cheap) or under the front yoke (better but more expensive), either one lets you remove the wheel.

I have an Abba stand, and an Abba lift too, and they're both very handy but for 9/10 jobs cheap paddock stands are all you need. You can even get by with just a rear stand and a bottle jack, or a pair of axle stands and a milk crate, or a load of bricks (my favourite with my 125) or you can hang it from the rafters or from a strong ladder or similiar a-frame. But paddock stands aren't expensive and they're easy.
