Default Re: Smile of the day - What is yours?

As I said before, more than a few roads in Shropshire and around are nominally tarmac but with grass and gravel in the centre and certainly not wide enough for a car and a motorbike to pass, but you are more likely to meet a tractor than a car. I stopped using 'shortest route' option on my satnav many years ago as it will happily send you down those back roads.[/QUOTE]

We've got plenty of those sort of roads in Essex and I generally take those rather than the main roads. Then again I have a GS not an SV these days.

Recently did a road trip in a car in Oregon and California. Highway 1 was fun in places, but much of the time the roads were straight, wide, boring and flat. The interesting passes seem to be closed most of the year and when they do open they are full of road works and people driving massive slow RVs. Thailand has far more interesting routes.
