Bike does look good, mind you I have never been a fan of faired bikes, why hide all that lovely engineering behind plastic. Last time I used a bike for commuting was when I was in late teens early 20's (late 60's early 70's) and even then they were not faired, can't for the life of me how I used to ride in all weather and on snowy / icy roads - must have been the foolishness / hardiness of yoof.
IMHO You do get more of an experience on naked bikes, and I have never been one for long distance touring where a fairing is a help.
And as you say, less likely to lose your licence on a naked. Being a naked the AL7 already had lower gearing fitted as standard ( 15 / 46 ) and is pretty quick off the mark as a result.
