Or inability of bike manufacturers to build your one perfect bike?
Years ago I had a Suzuki GS850 for touring and commuting, an LC350 for fun and a Ducati Pantah for joyous Sundays.
I found it a p.i.t.a. keeping them all maintained and clean.
Now I have the SV650AL7 all my bases are covered in the one bike.
