We had the same law in the UK as the US second amendment, its part of a package of laws the government have decided that some are out of date and no longer relevant to society now....

Specifically they still allow Parliamentary privilege, the right to set and allow taxes, juries for trials, not being liable to fines or forfitures without being convicted (except for proceeds of crime) and many more.

However the Protestants may have arms for their defence suitable to their conditions and as allowed by law is deemed to be no more (and yes just protestants, because Catholics were deemed to be really bad and all deserved to be put to the sword)

Bill of Rights 1689 (about 100 years before the US revolted)
