Hmmmm. Very odd placement. Maybe they want to make sure you are up to speed on their own file system, which will differ from what you have used up 'till now. (Still the MG file system, but with a local twist)

Positives? Weekends off. Negs, commuter traffic every day.

File managers are usually cops with more service, simply 'cos they know more than young'uns. However, our force use a lot of civilians in the CJU's as well. I would hate it, Couldn't do it at all. If you want the move though, go, learn, then moveon whenever you can. They can't keep you there if you want to apply for jobs internally.

It's a scary thing to do, but if it's what you want, do it!
