i do it the way i do as i cant spend it till i get a rebate and its better for them to owe me money than have to find money if the bill gets too big, i dont count on it but its nice when i get it. if it were in another one of my accounts i would be tempted to spend it.
btw i'm with scottish hydro and its one of the best utility companies i have ever dealt with and do the rebate automaticity every 6 months back into my bank account. unlike brittish ripoff who are the worst ever to deal with, they still send me bills in my mums name even though she is dead and the account was settled.
