Default Noisy Cam chain?

(Update: details on page 4. Anyone with similair issue should read, I count myself lucky!)

Hi,

I have an SV650 SK3.

It has about 38k miles on the clock and I've owned since 10k.

Recently I've begun to hear quite a loud ticking from the engine. I'm sure it's the rear cylinder because the noise is more audible at the rear. I've recorded a video so you can listen to the sound.

From what i've gathered, SVs are notorious for having a noisy cam chain.

My mechanic who isn't so familiar with SVs suggested posting to a forum of SV owners who may know more about the common issue.

It certainly isn't anything to do with my valves as the engine runs perfectly and is as happy as always.

My concern is, although SVs can develop noisy cam chains. Is this not a bit too loud? I can here it above my exhaust note. (No baffle).

I need a bit more advice on this as to whether it's ok to leave or if I should get it looked at. I'd rather have someone familiar with SVs look at it so if anyone knows of anyone around the Bury, Greater manchester area who could check it out. I'd appreciate it!

Thank you!
