DP Brakes pads come with a ceramic coating on the back of the pads so no need for the anti squeal shims, but you can if you like.

brake pads are only as good as the rest of the system so make sure your callipers are well serviced.
Another vote for DP pads. Very nice feel in both wet and dry conditions.
