Well I know a mate who got sent a 2003 'normal' level can on for his 2002 model found it rubed on the swing arm no mater how much he moved the routing around. So while it might work you as your cans are out of the way, you might have problems with the routing of the link pipes as the back ends, frame and swing arm ar different.
