Yep. I always take note of the max line in the reservoir with cap and diaphragm refitted.

Even with reservoir cap removed it was still binding on.

New / old caliper is now refitted and preliminary bleed is looking better. Leaving it to hang higher than the reservoir for a bit then will do a final bleed and report back. Looking like it may be an issue with the other caliper.
