you can buy 'sticky stuff remover' from most supermarkets, or try WD40 as it is a crap lubricant but works well as a solvent and don't seem to harm paint. Maybe try brake cleaner spray, it smells like a powerful solvent.
Maybe ring your local tyre place and ask them what they use to get balance weight adhesive off.
